About Us
Lemus Psychotherapy LLC is a specialized practice designed for men to examine and address their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Founded by male therapist Bryant Lemus, LCSW-C, this practice was established in response to the scarcity of male clinicians in the field of social work. Current statistics indicate that 75.6% of therapists are women, while only 24.4% are men. Modern men often face challenges such as stress, anxiety, and depression, yet they are less inclined to seek mental health support. It is essential for men to receive high-quality care from a same-sex therapist who comprehends their unique challenges. At Lemus Psychotherapy, we welcome all men aged 13 and older, irrespective of their background, race, ethnicity, economic status, or sexual orientation. Our practice is dedicated to assisting men at various life stages, including adolescence (ages 13-19), early adulthood (ages 20-49), middle adulthood (ages 40-65), and late adulthood (ages 65 and above).
About Bryant Lemus, LCSW-C
Bryant Lemus, LCSW-C, is a first-generation American of Salvadoran descent, serving as a son, father, uncle, and friend. As the eldest of five siblings, he resides in Montgomery County, MD, with his wife and two children. At the age of 15, Bryant developed a passion for helping others, which he discovered while working at the YMCA Youth & Family Services, where he found his calling in social work. He recognized the underrepresentation of men in the field, despite the universal importance of mental health. Driven by his passion, Bryant gained knowledge of legal matters while interning for state Delegate Joseline-Peña Melnyk. Following this experience, he pursued a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, graduating in May 2019. Since then, Bryant has cultivated a well-rounded clinical background, working across state, for-profit, and non-profit sectors. Over time, he observed a significant need for male clinicians, which inspired him to establish Lemus Psychotherapy LLC, a practice designed for men, by men. In his leisure time, Bryant enjoys exercising with his long-time friend and coach, reading with his children, traveling, and cooking with his wife, with pupusas being his favorite Salvadoran dish.
